EduLex Research & Consulting contributed to a Doctoral Mentoring Scheme designed to support first- and second-year doctoral students in their transition to research study. Unlike purely social initiatives, EduLex approached the scheme as a structured developmental programme, tailored to mentees’ expectations identified through pre-session forms.
The scheme combined fortnightly cohort meetings with five mentees to discuss challenges and share experiences, alongside one-to-one sessions focused on academic development, including literature reviews and methodology chapters. The diverse cohort—spanning full-time and part-time doctoral candidates from multiple cultural backgrounds—enriched the mentoring experience and fostered a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
